- Cardiovascular disease is responsible for 25% of all deaths in India. About 35% of the population suffers from high blood pressure and 28% from high cholesterol and obesity. This number is expected to reach 220 million by 2025.Â
- India has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world. Approximately 11.4% of the population over the age of 20 has diabetes, or about 77 million people.Â
