The Affiliate Marketing market is diverse and dynamic: trends, new approaches, complexities and ways to solve them are changing steadily, which makes the Nutra vertical even more interesting. Kirill (Business Development Director/dr.cash) and Andrey (Head of the Media Buying Team dr.cash/GainCashX) in our new monthly project about the most relevant and important news, told us what is happening now with the vertical, how and where to drive traffic, and how you can get the desired ROI. August may surprise you, the main thing is to find the right approach! We have prepared all the most useful things in our article.

July. How was the month!?

Were there any events that affected the current market situation? If yes - what were they? 

Kirill: "Yes, I think there have been such events. Firstly, the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games in Paris. Significant sporting events always provide increased audience interest and traffic growth in the Betting vertical. Accordingly, some media-buying teams have directed their focus on working in this vertical.

Secondly, an important event in the Nutra Market is the closure of one of the major advertisers, Leadreaktor. The story is not completely clear, there are a lot of discussions about this situation, but it is already becoming clearer that webmasters will not get their money. We also won't get our money, as Leadreaktor is one of our first advertisers, with whom we have successfully worked since June 2018 and have always maintained a warm partnership. It's unpleasant that this happened. Thankfully, we didn't have such a large amount of money hanging around, compared to familiar media-buying teams that were actively driving traffic there. 

How did it affect the market? Webmasters will definitely be more cautious, even with trusted affiliates, they will not hold large amounts of money on the accounts of Affiliate Networks. If we talk about offers and traffic, there are even pluses for us here, because there is one less Nutra Affiliate Network. We also work with a lot of direct advertisers in similar GEOs where Leadreaktor has worked, and their past affiliates are already coming to us and requesting offers (this includes Europe, Latin America and even Africa - we have something to offer everywhere)."

 

Andrey: "Of course! The European Football Championship and the Copa America had a bad effect on the results of the nutra department. It was felt most of all in Spain and Germany, where CPM rose to some cosmic figures. In other GEOs, traffic also went up in price, but acceptably. As for Leadreaktor's scam - fortunately, the media-buying department has not worked with their offers on principle. There was only once Biovita for Mexico, but there were no great results there. The reason for not working with this Affiliate Network is very simple, but unfortunately I can't swear bad words in public, so I will be brief. In March 2024, there were several cases where Leadreaktor really fucked up. Specifically, the call centre simply did not take requests into work. Instead of compensation or some kind of apology, they simply chose to ignore the issue. This is how both regular managers and management behaved." 

FB situation

Kirill: "There are complaints from affiliates, or rather there are always complaints) July was generally quiet. Since August the concentration of complaints about bans in our working chats has increased. This was also noticed on the volume of leads on the first weekend of August. Although now the situation is already recovering, so I can't say there is anything critical."

 

Andrey: "Everyone complains about rejections during moderation, about policies, about upcoming elections... All affiliate chats are full of whining. Last week I tested 3 funnels for different GEOs, different directions and I didn't notice any mass problems. Of course, if you are using hard approaches, you will be banned from any other period. Both video creatives and stats are doing well from all types of accounts now. Just test more formats, identify and exclude trigger elements. You can also try to start with a budget of $1, and after passing moderation, set your normal budget."

Top GEOs of July. New GEOs( +directions to each item)


Kirill: "Top 5 GEOs of July - Poland, Romania, Italy, Mexico, India. Poland and Romania have been in the TOP for a long time and steadily, Zero Rice Offers are very popular there.

Andrey: "Our media buying department works with all regions except Asia. Of course, we can see that India is now growing in traffic again, but we don't want to take profits away from solo affiliates. Within our department the most popular regions for work are Latin America and Europe. By sub-verticals all nutra: Prostatitis, Joints, Diabetes, Weight Loss, etc. Of the newer areas, I would point out Veneers for Europe. It's not exactly nutra, but it's interesting."

What was interesting about the sub-verticals?


Kirill: ‘The standard areas of the sub-verticals are now popular: Potency/Prostatitis, Weight Loss, Hypertension and Diabetes. The volumes on Joints have increased, which in principle often happens during the summer season. I notice, demand and carrying out tests for parasites."

 

Andrey: "I don't know, unfortunately or fortunately, but inside the media-baiting department we didn't discover any new directions, everything is the same: Weight Loss, Potency, Joints, Prostatitis, Diabetes. But very often we started to see Veneers in Europe, I think we will get there in the near future."

 

The most unexpected for you offer that showed good results?


Kirill: "26497 - Longzila Low Price - CPL - [IN] - unexpected because the payouts are $0.25-0.3, but even at such rates it works with adult approaches, and the most surprising thing is that it good for advertiser in terms of quality."

 

Andrey: "Offers in the category of Eyesight in MENA countries showed themselves quite unexpectedly. Specifically Optimac [LB\LY]."

Top interesting funnels for July

Kirill: "The schematic funnel via FanPage has been working for us for about half a year, we didn't always like the quality, but with proper elaboration and optimisation we get quite a working funnel and even quite long-term. In the main all also drive traffic to classic landers. Periodically I notice interesting order forms, where instead of roulettes-gifts test something new, like quizzes, scratches in an updated format and design, etc. There is a trend towards beautiful order forms, and even some simple gamification. We'll soon see Crazy Monkey pulling the discount ropes)"

 

Andrey: "In Latin America, I'm seeing more and more frequent funnelling schemes via FanPage. The funnel looks quite simple: Instead of a lander, the user is led to messages in FanPage, and then there is a classic correspondence between the doctor and the client (as in a lander). A huge plus of the funnel is that the number of bans is practically reduced to zero, as the user stays inside FB and does not go to third-party sites. This is also a plus to conversion, compared to similar landers."

Overall feedback and conclusion for July

Kirill: "July was predictable. Traffic volumes are not much different compared to the last two months, but still there is a minimum drawdown of -5%."

 

Andrey: "July was the most profitable of the last few months for our department. We should give credit to the World Cup, which reduced the competition for nutra products."

What will August be like?

What will be profitable in GEO and Sub-verticals?

Kirill: "Joints will continue to perform well in August. There is also a demand for Varicose, especially in Latin America. Latin America, by the way, and I am emphasising Latin America in general for obvious reasons. Also Africa - one of my favourite regions - continues to gain momentum, with the main GEOs being Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Côte d'Ivoire. I'm looking forward to the new GEOs - Angola and Cameroon."

 

Andrey: "Why Kirill emphasises Latin America is a mystery he won't reveal to me. Regarding Africa, Latin America is worked out! Because new offfers appear very rarely, and if they do appear - in 90% of cases they are not interesting. In Africa, on the contrary, constantly appear some new offers, also there are Low-price offers, some new GEO. Conclusion: Africa > Latin America."

Which Sub-verticals will be most profitable in August?

Kirill: "As I said, the Joints will continue to be relevant in August and autumn. It's a strong stable trend. Soon, I think traffic for Hair and Skin products will also return. Of the sub-verticals I would like to learn to work with in the near future are Stress Reduction, Sleep Improvement, Mood, Fighting Seasonal Depression."

 

Andrey: "If we talk about seasonality, by autumn it is, as usual, Prostatitis and Joints. Weight Loss will start to slowly fade away until next spring. And speaking in general terms, these are definitely the Mental Health Supplements category offers in Tier-1 countries. These are offers to improve Cognitive Ability, Mental Health, Depression."

Andrey: "For the last few months, video creatives have been gaining popularity within the media buying department. Almost on all GEOs lead is cheaper than on static, and of course the quality of traffic is higher. As formats we mainly use AIDA and BAB. Below attached пример👇🏻"

What about advertisers? (for example, in which region is it difficult to work with advertisers, and where are there a lot of adequate advertisers now?!)

Kirill:

  • "Indian advertisers have become more brazen - they don't want to make large prepayments, they move minimally in rates, and the most painful thing is that they have become very picky about the quality of traffic (it's not only about adult, but also about other niches we work with a lot - Weight loss, Diabetes). A lot of affiliates run tests and a lot of them get stopped at the end of it. This gives us all extra problems. A big plus for Indians is that they always agree to a guarantee or CPL.
  • In Africa, on the contrary, there are many adequate advertisers with whom you can negotiate, they listen to you, give you bumps, adjust prices on landers, make new products to order. There are problems with communication and long feedback, we also sometimes encounter technical problems that they don't want to solve themselves, but we are working on it and there is already progress.
  • Speaking of Europe, Latin America and classic Asia, there are no problems of newcomers there, everything works steadily, they pay on time, advertisers are experienced and proven. But on the other hand, they are less flexible, and even if they are ready to do something experimental and exclusive, it is not about speed."

Where will the money be? Where to book caps?

Kirill: "Where the money will be is a separate topic, but now the easiest money is Zero Price Offers. There are more caps on the main GEOs with Zero Price Offers - Poland, Czech Republic, Romania. Plus there are other GEOs in private where this format is already being tested and showing results - Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria. You should also keep in mind that if there are no caps on Zero Price Offers or no Zero Price Offers at all in a GEO, it is more likely (we are talking about Europe) that there are Low-price offers with a low price on lander. Such offers also show great results, and sometimes even beat Zero Price Offers in split due to higher rate and approval."

Andrey: "If we talk superficially - Low-price Offers on Europe. It is quite difficult to drive traffic on Zero Price offers because of the jumping approval and limited number of offers and GEOs. On Low-price there is a lot to choose from. If we go deeper, it is 1000% ‘Mental Health Supplements’ in Tier-1 countries ( I mentioned above. It's a very money-making trend that gives a huge opportunity for creativity in funneling, which is quite scarce in classic trends)."
